About Me

Name: David Parkinson
Date of Birth: 28-Feb-1982

I was born in Whiston and have lived all my life in Widnes, an old industrial town in the North West of England.

Since high school I have been an active programmer, most of my primary development time is spent deep within the realms of .NET with both C# and VB.NET (yes I know, not by choice). I started out back in the good old days on the Commodore Amiga programming in AmigaBASIC then progressed into “real” programming on the PC with VB3 a few years later. Since then I have enjoyed working with numerous languages such as C, C++, Java, PHP, Prolog, Haskell, T-SQL even some old 68000 ASM on occasion. I am also very keen to try out new things and have recently started playing around with Ruby on Rails. It’s a nice break from .NET.

I graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2004 with a 1st Class BSc Degree in Computer Science with Honours.

I’m addicted to all things sci-fi and I watch just about every show going at the moment. I am currently following Stargate Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica, Lost, Heroes, Prison Break and 24. Stargate SG-1 would until recently have been on that list, but unfortunately it has been cancelled after its record breaking 10th season!. Hope we get some movies out of that soon! :)
