It had to happen sooner or later. After some more gentle persuasion from my good friend Andy Stopford I thought I’d better check out this blogging thing.

So without further ado, the customary introductions……

My name is David Parkinson and I’m a programmer from the North West UK. Most of my primary development time is spent deep within the realms of .NET with both C# and VB.NET (yes I know, not by choice). I started out back in the good old days on the Amiga programming in AmigaBASIC then progressed into “real” programming on the PC with VB3 a few years later. Since then I have worked with numerous languages such as C, C++, Java, Prolog, Haskell, T-SQL even some old 68000 ASM on occasion. I am also very keen to try out new things and have recently started playing around with Ruby on Rails which I am quite impressed with so far, and it’s a nice break from .NET.

I started working with Andy on the new GUI for MbUnit codenamed Icarus a few weeks ago so I will try my best and keep posting updates on the development of that on here as well as other random thoughts as they pop into my head.

Well, i think thats it for now. Let the blogging journey begin.
